Trans Euro Trail
Trans Euro Trail
(TET) is a network of off-road routes through Europe, covering over 70,000 km. The TET was conceived as a project to encourage responsible off-road motorcycling and four-wheeling, whilst also promoting sustainable tourism and economic development in rural areas.
The TET is made up of a series of national and regional off-road trails, which are connected to form a continuous network stretching from Portugal in the west to Ukraine in the east. The TET is not a single physical trail, but rather a network of existing trails that have been officially recognized and signposted by the relevant national or regional authorities.
The TET is open to all off-road vehicles, including motorcycles, quads/ATVs, UTVs/side-by-sides, and 4x4s. The only requirement is that vehicles must be fully road legal and have third-party insurance.
The TET is divided into 14 sections, each of which has been assigned a difficulty rating from 1 (easy) to 5 (very difficult). This rating system is intended to help riders choose routes that are appropriate for their skills and experience.
The TET is a non-profit organization, and all proceeds from the sale of maps and GPS tracks go towards the maintenance and development of the trail network.

TET Croatia is a network of off-road trails covering over 2,000 km in the eastern part of the country. The trail network is made up of a series of regional trails, which are connected to form a continuous route.
The TET Croatia is open to all off-road vehicles, including motorcycles, quads/ATVs, UTVs/side-by-sides, and 4x4s. The only requirement is that vehicles must be fully road legal and have third-party insurance.
The TET Croatia is divided into 7 sections, each of which has been assigned a difficulty rating from 1 (easy) to 5 (very difficult). This rating system is intended to help riders choose routes that are appropriate for their skills and experience.
ROUTE OVERVIEW
Croatia is a diverse country with minor roads connecting the mainland with its mountains and peaks to the coastline and seaside. The TET Croatia network covers all of this including a visit to the capital city of Zagreb.
The first section starts in the northeast near the border with Hungary and Slovenia. The route then heads southwest, passing through the capital city of Zagreb before heading into the mountains of Gorski Kotar. From here, the trail follows the Croatian-Bosnian border before heading south into the Dalmatian Mountains. The route then passes through the UNESCO World Heritage site of Plitvice National Park before heading east towards the coast. The final section of the TET Croatia takes riders north along the coast, passing through the cities of Zadar and Sibenik before finishing at the border with Bosnia & Herzegovina.
Legal white roads/dirt roads in Croatia usually connect areas between cities, valleys, or mountains. These roads are not always in the best condition and can sometimes be impassable for vehicles with low ground clearance. In addition, many of these roads are not signposted, so it is important to have a good map and GPS track before attempting them.
Off-road tracks in Croatia are usually found in forests or mountains and are generally in a good condition. However, some of these tracks can be very technical and challenging, so it is important to check the difficulty rating before attempting them.
There are no restrictions on using off-road vehicles in Croatia, but all vehicles must be road legal and have third-party insurance.
If you are looking for an adventure that will take you to some of the most beautiful places in Europe, the Trans Euro Trail is definitely worth checking out. This long-distance off-road trail winds its way through some of the most scenic and varied terrains in the continent and is a great way to explore places that you might never otherwise see. The trail is divided into seven sections, each of which can be completed in a few days or weeks, depending on your time constraints and fitness levels.
