Rent a Ducati Scrambler 800
Even after sitting on the Scrambler, the slim shape and compact proportions are verified. The driver sits upright, which also implies – rather passive, due to the low position of the seat (790 mm), which is complemented with a very large and high steering wheel. The small size gives you the impression that you are sitting directly on the gasoline tank, and the slightly sloped seat adds to the sliding forward sensation. While the knee bending angle is moderate, the seat is extremely minimally cushioned and, as such, is not comfortable. Overall, riders taller than 175 cm won’t likely find their ideal riding position on the Scrambler; nonetheless, everyone under that height fits well.
Of course, the power of 75 hp is not a sensation, but the mentioned thrust is very respectable. Its development is very linear, and altogether it is actually an ideal compromise between tame and wild – it will not be too demanding for beginners and still interesting and fun for experienced players. And what is very important – everything is accompanied by a very pleasant, charming soundscape of the L-twin. Full, deep tones are still socially acceptable and won’t make you any new enemies in the neighborhood.
The operation of the anti-hopping clutch is completely imperceptible, which means that it is soft and precise in dosing. As such, it fits perfectly into the benevolent character of the Scrambler, which moves through the streets of Zagreb with incredible agility and lightness. The impression of simplicity is spoiled by the more “bony” gearbox, which finds the way to a higher gear a little harder in short shifts. The final transmission is short, which allows the Scrambler good intermediate accelerations, but on the other hand, the highest speed of 195 km/h is also declared.
